Phrase search is a type of full-text search in which a combination of words in a search query is compared, taking into account their order.

This Phrase search app is based on the GroupDocs.Search full-text search engine, which provides extensive search query customization options. For example, each word of a search phrase can be searched using fuzzy matching. To do this, check the fuzzy search box in the settings field and specify the maximum number of differences in a word.

An example of a phrase search is "special theory of relativity". The search result for this query will be documents that contain the given sequence of words in any of the fields.

How to search for a phrase in document

  • Click inside the file drop area to upload a file or drag & drop a file.
  • Once upload completes, you will be able to perform search in your file.
  • Enter a phrase to search for.
  • Set the search options, if necessary.
  • Get results by clicking the "Search" button.
  • Add more files with "Add files" button.
  • Select added files to include them into the index and perform searches.
